Dec 17th, 2024

Mikel Miller Of Bold Roofing in Missouri purchased our marketing service, which requires a 3-month commitment and currently costs $7,500 quarterly. Our marketing fee can also be paid monthly at $2,500/mo (3x). Our fees do not include any Ads budget (this is paid by the client directly so that the client owns their Ad accounts). As for the Ads Budget, Mikel requested us to manage $3,000/mo in Ad budget.

Our service for Mikel included:

  • Facebook Ads Management

  • Fully Produced & Edited Facebook Video Ads

  • Fully Produced & Edited Facebook Static Ads

  • Fully Produced & Edited Downloadable PDF (For Ads)

  • CRM Setup For Lead Management (Includes Call Tracking)

  • Sales Offer Planning & Creation

  • Sales Offer Landing Page

  • BONUS (WE HOOKED MIKEL UP): Free Google Ads Management (Google Search & Google Local Service Ads)!

  • BONUS (WE HOOKED MIKEL UP): Free Google Business Profile Optimization!

For reference: Advertising agencies charge anywhere between $5,000-$15,000/mo for this level of work and content production. How do we know? Market research + we have many clients who used to be charged that before working with us.

Dec 20th, 2024

Within 72 hrs after signing up for our services, Mikel Miller Of Bold Roofing in Missouri received his first lead / service inquiry from our marketing efforts 🎊 speed to (first) lead is a metric we track for all our customers!

With new leads coming in, our team was eager to see Mikel refine his sales process, so more estimates could be sent out and more jobs could be closed (to help Mikel grow his business of course!)...

Jan 13th, 2025

Mikel Miller Of Bold Roofing in Missouri requests immediate cancellation of our marketing service.

Up until this point, the majority of our work was provided and the only work that was required from us on the account were on-going campaign optimizations and video/static production for the Ads (if/as needed),

Performance Report Upon Cancellation -> 12/17/2024 - 1/13/2025 (28 Days)

  • FB Leads: 8

  • Google Leads: 9

  • Total Leads: 17

  • Budget Spent: $1,500

  • Avg. Cost Per Lead: ~$88.24

  • Estimates Provided To Home Owners From Ads (According To Mikel): 1

  • Monthly Target Budget From Mikel: $3,000 Per Month.

Note the CPA improvements, and lead flow increasing for less money than what Mikel previously paid to acquire leads from Ads!

Far from perfect, but these are early indications of a successful Ad campaign and proof of better campaign performance than prior campaigns attempted by Mikel. Once lead flow is established, sales can be refined to make the leads work 😎!

These things take 'time' to figure out, which is why our service has a 3-month commitment.

Against our recommendation (because Mikel insisted that our service 'does not work'), we proceeded to honor Mikel's cancellation request, and we sent him our final invoice.

The outstanding debt is $5,000 and includes a $500 late payment fee.

Mikel decided not to pay 'because why pay for something that does not deliver results'? (although Mikel's results improved, our service is not performance-based, & Mikel managed to send out new estimates to leads πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ).

After multiple failed attempts to settle this situation, we decided to involve a 3rd party collection agency on Feb 20th, 2025.

On Feb 21st, 2025 Mikel Miller from Bold Roofing decided to 'not recommend' us publicly (see picture top of page).

So we thought - let's give Mikel's attempt to 'bad mouth' us some context πŸ˜‡!

Even AFTER Working With Us (Jan 13th - Feb 22nd, 2025), Mikel Miller From Bold Roofing Is Still Benefitting From Our Google Business Profile And Google Local Service Ads Optimizations (GLSA Campaign Was Not Turned Off), Which Continue To Bring New Leads To His Business! πŸš€

You're Welcome Mikel! 🎊

MIKEL FROM BOLD ROOFING CONTINUES TO TWIST FACTS PUBLICLY πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

read Mikel's response:

βœ… Within 72 hrs Mikel of Bold Roofing got his first lead after starting to work with us (Google Local Service Ads; see screenshots above). Usually, we ask for 5-10 days setup times.

βœ… Mikel of Bold Roofing was able to cancel early, which is what he did (we never stopped him, although we advised against it). However, that does not mean that Mikel is relieved from his payments.

βœ… The Google Business Profile optimization was completed already (see those fancy product/service images on Bold Roofing's Google Business Profile among other optimizations).

βœ… Bold Roofing's Ad accounts & Google Business Profile do not indicate major declines in December (see screenshot below). Google Business Profiles are known to fluctuate in traffic, but in Bold Roofing's case we found no major decline.

FAQs

Why Are You Doing This?

To stand up for ourselves, other marketers, and all service providers who understand that 'the customer is not always right'. We take pride in our work

Mike Miller from Bold Roofing tried to hurt our reputation online without giving proper context after trying to avoid payment on $5,500.

How To Resolve This?

Mikel - please communicate with the debt collection agency that has contacted you. Thank you!

Is This What You Do With Ex-Customers?

Never have and we hope we will never have to do this again!

Throughout My Local Ads' history (3 years) we've ended all of our work relationships amicably and we have never felt unfair treatment from our customers in return. After helping 200+ customers over the past 3 years, A) we have never submitted a debt collection request, because we did not need to, and B) we have never experienced someone publicly trying to 'bad mouth' us in front of 1,000s of other industry professionals (our potential customers), when our service shows clear evidence of working and improving Mikel's marketing situation.

As a fellow business owner, we assume that Mikel understands how important 'reputation' is in our line of work.

So - because we believe that Mikel is not providing enough context to his public attempts to hurt our reputation, we thought we'd help him out!
